The Florida Society AIBD met this year at the Crowne Plaza, in West Palm Beach, Florida. In the spirit of keeping things fresh, the Executive Committee decided to hold Committee Meetings earlier on Friday afternoon. Shortly following the Committee Meetings was the Board of Directors meeting. Lately we’ve had a lot to talk about. With the progress made through Hillsborough County, and the impact that Florida AIBD Members have made towards the progression of residential design, Wow, where do I start? Saturday made for a good day of education. Henry Tamura from Canin and Associates gave his second installation of presentation classes. This class focused on color presentations and how to use the different kind of markers and pencils. Then he continued the teaching on perspectives. After lunch the Society went through the installation of Officers and Directors for the up coming year, and awarded recognition to those that served the AIBD in the passed year. Our State Society President, Tim Bricker gave his “State of the Society” address, and we concluded by setting our sights on the next meeting in line, which is to be held in Savannah, Georgia. After the meeting and ceremonies were over, we loaded the bus for our architectural tour of Whitehall, Flagler Museum. The picture above is one of the front of the Museum. If you haven’t been there, you’ll have a hard time believing how great the building is.
